Borealis

I've dreamed about the Aurora Borealis - natures play of lights and stars.
Named after a greek goddess, as beautiful things seem to be.
Have you ever had the pleasure? To witness such an amazing spectacle?
One day I will get North enough too :-)

Borealis necklace is made from sterling and labradorite. Simple in execution, but sometimes my most favorite pieces are. The stone shines in this piece - it instantly made me think of the Northern Lights with its splashes of blue yellow and green against a grey backdrop.

Complete with a wild flower cut out in the back, and my makers mark. This stone was simply too beautiful not to let a little peek through the back as well!

Heading into the shop tomorrow morning at 9am PST unless reserved before then.
Please do contact me if you want to claim this as yours in the mean time!

Have you seen the Northern Lights?

Light Lead My Way - Revisited

A couple weeks back I wrote this post  about human struggle and how much clearer the light of day may seem when you have struggled to see it.
It's a topic very close to me, and I was so happy to see the ring I made with that inspiration go to a lovely repeat customer of mine!

I felt the subject deserved a revisit, and I happened to snatch up this insane Labradorite at my local gem shop the other day, and just knew it was meant to be a Light Lead My Way Ring :-)

Size 8, with a skinny 3mm wide band, this ring measures hefty 1 1/4 inches square!

She's more beautiful than I could catch on camera - I assure you she will lead you out of the toughest times!

Heading into the shop tomorrow morning free for anyone, unless claimed before then :-)

Oh yeah, even MORE

The hot thing seems to be Saddle Rings right now, I am seeing them everywhere! I happen to love this style, but have never worn them because I have short fingers, and they never seem comfortable. SO, I made my version of a saddle ring, with a standard 4mm ring shank back for ultra comfyness!

I love me some yummy Amber - golden honey nuggets!
I will be offering these rings as a limited edition in my Catalog Shop, Made to order!

Hope you love them!

If Only

I wish I were an African Violet.
Not just any purple blossom,
but specifically the one that sat on my grandmothers table.
If only I could jump back in time to when I could sit and spend time with her.
She would lean in to admire my vivid colour,
and I could take in her scent one more time.
She would run her fingers over my gentle fuzzy leaves,
and I could feel her touch.

A simple flower to some is a flood of memories for me.
A flower that may be deemed "simple" by some,
was the anchor to which a prism from my grandmother's window landed.
She was never known for being anything other than perfectly understated,
yet nothing short of classy.

One day I will nest an African Violet in the heart of my home,
and ode to my Grandmother, and all things understand, yet truly beautiful.

African Violet Ring
Sterling Silver and Amethyst

African Violet ring was inspired by the very woman who inspired me on a daily basis. Created with a 5mm  faceted African Amethyst stone in a rich luster purple, I have set it in a 6mm wide sterling silver ring shank I imprinted with a leaf and flower vine. Darkened with patina, then burnished to reveal bright silver, this ring is made to order in a limited quantity.

In the Etsy Catalog and on the Website now.

What has inspired you lately?
