Weekly Goals for the Soul - Week 1

You all know I am on the ever long quest to lose weight and get fit and healthy.
Seems I never really can stay on that wagon.
I am not naturally athletic - my knees hate me and I have the worlds worst stamina.
I couldn't run to save my life.

This girl ain't no gazelle that's for sure.

I recently decided I needed to bite the big one and take a "before" picture *boo hiss CRINGE* and boy oh boy did that make something click inside of me.
How did I get here.
How did it get this bad.

And no, don't worry, i will not be posting that horrifying picture here. Maybe one day when I have an "after" picture to share :-)

Besides dusting off my lonely MyFitnessPal account ( join me? My user name is BellaBijou) and doing session of the 30 Day Shred yesterday ( DAMN my thighs hate me today!)  I decided to try setting weekly goals for myself for motivation. Sometimes they may be small, sometimes big, but I wanted to give myself things that I could pat myself on the back for accomplishing weekly.

This weeks challenge?
No pop (soda for you Americans lol) for a week.
Seems easy, but I LOVE my Coke Zeros. And while I know they technically are calorie free, they are full of all sorts of other crap I know I can go without.

Don't get me wrong, I still plan on having one as a treat every now and then, but I sure as hell don't need to drink them like water, now do I?

It's a small start, but combined with moving more and eating less I hope it can be a good start in the right direction.  Today is only day 2, so time will tell how hard this is for me!

Any ideas for next weeks goal?
I plan on posting my progress here in hopes for a supportive environment.

Let me know what your health and fitness goals are? What have you achieved, and what are you working towards?

Always,

I am so with you on the weight loss and get healthy thing, I am trying out weight watchers, I have a million diets in the lets try this diet file none ever worked, I decided to go the route when I thought I was at the end of the road with the insanity of trying every Monday a new diet it was a crazy cycle of beating up the same first five pound segment that I have lost a million times by now. Good thoughts for you in this journey may we both have sucess.

I am right there with you Jaime!
I am happy to say that we have exchanged the cars for bikes and we are moving around sooo much more now. Last week we actually bought running shoes (I never thought I would be running ha ha) but I have been out running a couple of times a week now!

We can do this!!

I'm with you too missy!

I gave up soda about a year ago - I was addicted to diet Pepsi but all the junk in it earned me many a lecture. In giving it up, i discovered that my love was for fizz, and promptly developed an addiction to Perrier. Cost aside, I felt like a hoarder with all the green bottles that would pile up over a week, and ended up with a soda stream. I love it. It makes water fizzy, and if I am feeling particularly adventurous a drop of fruit juice adds some lovely flavour.
