Take Flight

Take Flight Belt Buckle
Copper, Brass and Sterling Silver

Sometimes I dream I am a feather.
I fly high above all the buildings in this city.
I soar over the ocean and the valley.
I coast down the sides of the mountain.
I touch down to the ground,
only to be picked up by the wind on my next journey.

Sometimes I wish I were a feather.
Weightless,
on a constant journey.
And then I remember that life is a journey,
one we all travel.
Like feathers, we end up in different places,
shed from our mothers and fathers,
and let loose on the world in our own adventure.

A belt buckle about destiny.
Handmade in copper, brass and touches of sterling silver rivets. I have hand cut a soaring eagle out of brass, and over laid it on textured copper I rolled myself.
Measuring approx 2 1/4 in tall (56mm) and 3 inches wide (75mm)this buckle is touched with sterling silver corner rivets and features hand forged brass hardware.

Free to fly high...

In the shop later today

Crashing Bison

Not long ago I treated myself to something special.
If you know me, you'd know I don't buy things for myself, and most certainly not jewellery, but I just couldn't pass these up. A sweet friend of mine opened up her etsy shop not long ago, and has been working busily to fill it up with her wonderful designs!
Please take a moment to check out www.crashingbison.etsy.com  and take a peek at all her gorgeous work!

I snatched up a pair of these - I fell in love with them from the moment she first listed them!
And I can tell you, I get compliments every time I wear them :-)

Tapestry

My life has been a tapestry of rich and royal hue
An everlasting vision of the ever changing view
A wondrous woven magic in bits of blue and gold
A tapestry to feel and see, impossible to hold
-Carole King

Tapestry Necklace
Sterling Silver and Pilot Mountain Turquoise

Scallops of sterling silver connected together like the moments in our lives. This necklace was created to remind us that life is full of ups and downs, slow times and moments that go too fast, and each and every one of those moments is a thread woven into our own personal tapestry.
Hand forged from sterling silver, Tapestry necklace focuses around a gorgeous robins egg blue Pilot Mountain Turquoise. Scallops of sterling silver direct in towards the stone from their sterling silver frame, which has been oxidized for depth and rustic soul.
Hanging from a hand hewn sterling silver bail imprinted with a fabric like pattern, this beauty hangs 17 inches on oxidized sterling silver chain.

Like everything that comes and goes in our live, this necklace will find a home with a special lady who will add it to her tapestry...

Heading into the shop soon :-)

Sundays are meant for this

They are meant for moments at the family home.
{that may soon be gone, but I am not sure I am ready to talk about that here}
They are meant for catching up with the weeks happenings.
They are meant for cuddles with the ones you love, both human and non.
{although, ask anyone in my family and they'll tell ya Tucker is human!}
Sundays are meant for peeking your head through the blinds and watching for squirrels with your tail wagging.

Well, at least for Tuckie they are!
{how dare those squirrels prance around my yard!}

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, and great monday!

Feeling Unisexy

I have been wanting to test out the idea of this belt buckle for ages now, but it took a friend of mine challenging me to make one for her brother for his birthday to actually get it done.
Isn't it funny how some ideas just make cozy in your mind until the right time to come out ?

I'd say it was the right time, cause I am thrilled with out this turned out.

Simple.
Rustic.
Unisexy
{sure thats not a real world, but maybe if we all use it it will catch on ? I like it}

Tartan Belt Buckle

Hand forged from heavy copper and brass, imprinted with a tartan-esque texture and then oxidized for a rustic imperfect {which is perfectly perfect if you ask me!} satin finish.

The belt is mine - it was made by the lovely Caitlin over at Moxie & Oliver

I'll say it again :

Unisexy

You will be finding this offered Made to Order in this shop : www.bellabijoutoo.etsy.com very soon!

Sneaky Peaks are fun...

I have ALOT of pieces on my bench currently, but I thought I would show you a sneak peak preview pic of the rings I currently have on the go!

Rosy Disposition Rings
Sterling Silver
One matched with Larimar
the other with Labradorite
Yet to be oxidized,
Or sized {so let me know if you would like to claim one of these roses for yourself in your size! Otherwise they will be listed on monday or tuesday in sizes of my choosing.}

**UPDATE - the Labradorite ring has been spoken for!**

My grandfather was the King of Roses. He would spend hours nurturing them into the stunning blooms they were.
Stunning petals of pink, crimson, peach and sunshiny yellow would flutter and grown tall to reach the sky.
And every June, when my birthday came around, Grandpa would pick his most beautiful stem for me. A single rose of perfection that I would let dry out to forever preserve its memory.... and his.
And every time I see one, I think of him, and remember that sometimes it just takes the simplest things to cast our lives into Rosy Disposition.

Forever blooming like the memories you cherish...

It is the delightful mmm. bookling!

Her thoughts on spring : "What I love about spring = internal energy. I can feel the blossoms pushing through my winter branches, ready to shake of that heavy blanket and get going! I love the fragrant air and the shedding of clothes and the skin warmed by sun. But maybe most of all, I love shooting pictures in the spring. The light and the colors kill me."

I couldn't have said it better myself!
YAY!

I love doing these giveaways - it never gets dull! The chance to send jewellery out there and put a smile on someone's face is purely selfish on my part - so do me all a favor will you?
Say something nice to someone today. Because you can.
Off a compliment or a sweet thought that might put a smile on their face.
You never know what kind of day someone is having. But you do have the power to make it a little brighter :-)

And of course- to all those who didn't win, fret not because if you follow my blog you know I do giveaways a few times a year.
So until next time!
