I love the idea of it's journey through space and sky,
Soaring above ocean and valley.
Fluttering down to touch Earth,
Only to be swept up in the wind on its next big adventure.
Sometimes I wish I were a feather. Weightless, on a constant journey. And then I remember that life is a journey, one we all travel. Like feathers, we end up in different places, shed from our mothers and fathers, and let loose on the world in our own adventure.
The other day these feathers landed on my doorstep.
Hand painted by the AMAZING UmberDove
They came to me on a day when I couldn't have needed them more. A reminder I am not alone in my journey in the world. Twin Feathers to represent parallel lives balancing each other. They flutter and twirl around each other, like soulmate friends, supporting each other through the best of times, and the worst of times.
Sometimes it just takes a little sign to remind you of something that is already present in your life. A reminder you CAN get through low times, and fly higher because of it :-)
Today I remember my grandfather, who didn't like to talk about his time overseas during WWII.
He would say that they went to do a job that needed to be done - and were just happy to make it home.
Miss you grandpa - and all the stories you did tell us:-)
Lest We Forget those who fought for a better world to raise children in.
Who fought so more men and woman could live to tell their grandchildren stories.
Who fought so the men and woman or the world can one day walk along side of each other in harmony.
Those who are currently deployed and away from their loved ones.
Keep them in your hearts - all who have paved the way for us, and continue too.
