Sunny Days, Sweet Treats and Girls Who Like Pink

SUNNY DAY NECKLACE

{Sterling Silver, Druzy and Snow Jade}

In Vancouver it rains.
Alot.
And so many complain about the rain,
but not me.

I search for other things to perk myself up.
I search for a Sunny Day in the darkest clouds.
I search for an inner warmth on the wettest of days.

And the other day when it poured and poured - I put my hands to work and they made this, the Sunny Day Necklace. If you have been searching for a piece to bring light into a dark sky, this my friends is it!

Created around a sparkling speckled yellow Druzy that measures approx 30mm wide, and set in sterling silver. Underneath I have soldered sterling silver "rays" to mimic the sun. It hangs on 17 inches of hand wrapped 6mm snow jade beads, with an extender chain that allows an extra 2 inches. 

Exit night, enter light....

Oh when I was a kid caramel was my weak spot.
Ok who am I kidding?? It was and still is like Kryptonite for me.
I can't help myself around it,
sticky fingers and happy belly initially follow.

When I came across this stone my first though was "Caramel Sundae!" ( of course it was food related!) and I knew I had to create with it. A stone like this really doesn't need any fanfare, so I have simply set it in fine and sterling silver with a light edge. It has been oxidized for a lovely antique quality and sits on a double banded size 7 ring shank.

A treat for your eyes - minus the sticky fingers!

A new role...

Hey lovlies,

I know I have been a bit of a lame blogger as of late - but I often feel like I have nothing interesting to talk about! 

What I am excited about it that we got a 2am phone call from my BF's sister last night saying she was going into labour! She was due on the 3rd, so we knew it would be any day, but as the days crept on I thought there very well could be a chance of this little one sharing my birthday ( june 10th) 

Looks like she had other plans! As we speak, she is on her way into this world, making us Aunty  and Uncle for the first time! 

Of course, I will post more when we find out the name. Since they are in New Orleans, we wont be visiting the new little one for a while - but I can't wait to take on my new role and Aunty Jaime ( even if it is from afar!) 

PS - you may have noticed I have now switched my comments to be moderated. I have been plagued with a repeat spammer, so hopefully this will put an end to it. I have noticed that I am not really getting any comments on my posts anymore, so I hope it is not because of this! I love hearing back from readers - that is why I do it at all!

Week Idontknow and Thoughts

In 8 days I will be 27.

Not sure how I feel about it quite frankly. 

When I was younger I always had older friends. I always wanted to be older, to catch up to them.  Of course I never could.

And now that I am getting into my late twenties I feel this pang of regret for not making more of my early twenties. I am not where I had wanted to be by this age.

It seems like all of my old friends are getting married, and there is a bit of a baby boom going on right now. Once again it kind of feels like everyone is moving on ahead of me in the line, and I can't catch up.

Anyone else out there feel that? Am I being silly??

One of the goals I have not achieved was my weight loss. Don't get me wrong, I am not giving up! I have been going to the gym since the 2nd week of April, every week except last when I was away.

And the scale? It's barely budged.

Oh and I know what many of you may be thinking :

Don't pay attention to the numbers on the scale!

Watch your diet too!

Keep at it, it takes time!

These things I know :-)

This is not me getting down ( ok maybe a little) but it is me giving myself a reality check. 

I made a promise to put it all out there when I started this journey, as I have said in the past, it helps me stay accountable. 

And as my clothes feel tighter and tighter, I just have to keep going, keep pushing myself harder. I don't want to feel as though another birthday has gone by, and I am still not comfortable in my own skin. I want to feel like I am making a change. 

I don't feel that change yet - I think I am craving to feel that.

It will come right?
